	In this photo-documentary I capture my experience being a server to understand the community, the culture, and the work habits that I was learning. I found being a server was a difficult job as one must simultaneously juggle the roles of service, food expert, and entertainer all the while balancing the myriad of emotions that present themselves both in the back and front of the house. My documentation and studies of this experience have led me to present my work in the form of a book and a photo exhibition supported and awarded by the UCONN Scholars program in 2019. &#38;nbsp;
	
In 2022 I continued to work on this project by creating a second-edition photography book. I expanded on my experience and included more images from that period to bring to light the stories and appreciation for restaurant service work. I find it important to discuss the intricacies and complexities of restaurant work, which is so often overlooked but still deserves recognition. I have printed and self-published 10 copies of this book.

	Notch Above Bread

	
	Located above the 'notches' of New Hampshire and nestled in the deep White Mountain National Forest, Notch Above Bread is a modern bakery that uses traditional bread-making practices but raises them a notch above to create their own bread and pastry recipes. 
The baker's journey started in 2002 when he opened his first store for a brief two years before an unfortunate fire in the building. This led him to take a break from his small passion and return to his medical practice as an Emergency Room physician for the next 20 years. Upon retiring from the ER, he went back to bread making with his Quebec-style wood-fired oven and a full baker's kitchen, selling his delicious goods at local farmers' markets.

The Notch Above Bread logo is inspired by the rhythmic practices of baking and takes on the form of a morning sun rising over hills with a balance of negative and positive space. The geometric logotype stands out among its more ornamental counterparts, creating an identity that is new yet familiar. Using a classic brick-red color palette evokes an old-school feel while remaining fresh and current - reflecting the brand's mission as they expand across the North Country.

	LUÜNA Naturals is a company helping women understand ethical and good period hygiene. They've created the campaign #NOMORESECRETS, which aims to provide women in Asia with organic cotton and sustainable period wear options, as well as educational resources and more.&#38;nbsp;
As a form of education, I created GIFs illustrating a few common health problems: Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) and Thrush. PCOS is believed to be caused by a hormone imbalance and can result in several symptoms, including irregular menstrual cycles, cysts, and fertility challenges.

	Thrush, or yeast infections, occur when there is an overgrowth of a specific kind of yeast known as Candida in the vagina. Sometimes it can feel like an ant attack, causing significant itching and irritation in the vagina and around the vulva.

Feed Forward-Opoly is a digital, game-based strategy prototype designed to help students give constructive feedback, drawing on psychological, evidence-based research to improve both the giving and receiving of feedback. Often, peer feedback can be inconsistent, lack depth, or fail to be sufficiently actionable, which diminishes its effectiveness as a learning tool. It is common among students to struggle with how to give feedback in a helpful and respectful manner, or may be hesitant to critique their peers. This UX research and prototype project takes on those challenges into a fun game.

Problem Space
	Even at the master’s level, students face challenges with providing and receiving constructive feedback. Why is this the case, and why has the U.S. educational system not better supported this real problem? We set out to explore opportunities to improve peer feedback for graduate students in the classroom, so they can have confidence and feel comfortable in open discussions and critiques.


	Research
	We began our research by interviewing our fellow students, as well as our instructors, to gain different perspectives on the challenge. Our aim was to understand student experiences, identify challenges that affect the quality and facilitation of peer feedback, and learn how the concept of peer feedback can be better supported. This provided us with qualitative data.
We also created a survey, which we distributed to a group of people to gather further insights on this topic. The survey consisted of 15 questions, and we received roughly 50 responses with quantitative results.

We then collected our thoughts and created an affinity map to identify common themes and patterns in the responses.
Narrowing down our research, we arrived at two major, connected insights on peer feedback and how to improve it:
Attitude:&#38;nbsp;Students often feel shy or hesitant to give feedback, especially when they feel less knowledgeable or fear offending their peers.Quality:&#38;nbsp;Both students and instructors seek feedback that is clear, actionable, and respectful, with a preference for feedback from multiple sources to support better improvement.

	Problem StatementHow might we create a supportive environment for constructive feedback in the classroom that recognizes knowledge gaps, reduces fear of criticism, and encourages open communication?


	Ideation


	My idea stemmed from the need for structured support when giving feedback. I often worried about hurting others’ feelings while wanting to be constructive, so I envisioned flash cards or note cards to help start feedback sentences and make the process less intimidating. This concept became a “Sentence Structure Toolkit” that prompts students to begin with something positive, offer a suggestion, and explain why. My classmates contributed as well—Farong suggested AI-assisted feedback examples, while Yuanyiyi proposed gamifying the training process to make practicing feedback more engaging.

While our initial results are promising, further testing is needed to validate and fully enhance the experience. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed creating this project. The entire user experience case study process was both rewarding and inspiring.

	Lancaster Memorial Park Design

	
	I collaborated with the Planning Board of Lancaster, New Hampshire, to create 3D model renderings of a public garden space designed to honor the late Mr. Greg Cloutier, a local citizen who dedicated the final years of his life to restoring much of the downtown area. Situated just off Main Street, this vibrant garden will serve as a peaceful retreat for local residents and a potential attraction for tourists during the summer months. The renderings were featured in the local newspaper and used to promote an auction aimed at raising funds for the garden's development.

	Stoneview Capital is a privately held Hong Kong-based real estate investment firm. I re-designed the logo taking components from the old identity and reducing elements to a minimum. By incorporating luxury duplex business cards printed in navy and white, along with debossing and bronze foiling, the cards will stand out from the crowd while maintaining a professional look.
